Sorrow has engulfed Warri, Delta State, as a two-month-old baby was yesterday kidnapped by unknown gun men operating with a tricycle (popularly known as Keke NAPEP).
Mrs Rita Oghale, mother of the child, told People&Politics that the incident took place along NNPC by-pass before the traffic light part of the oil city.
According to the visibly distraught woman, she boarded the tricycle with two of her children (including the baby) at Shaguolor Junction to Airport road, with two male and female passengers already occupying the back seat.
She recalled that at NNPC bypass by Delta Careers College fence, just before the traffic light, the male passenger suddenly brought out a gun and pointed it at her, demanding that she surrenders the baby, whose name is Riches.
Mrs. Oghale added that as she hesitated, the man forced the child off her, took her phone number, then pushed her and the other child out of the tricycle.
According to Mrs Oghale, this happened about 4pm.
She said the matter has been reported at the police station and frantically called on anyone with information that will help recover her child to contact the nearest police station.
