Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED), has celebrated former head of defunct Mass Mobilisation for Self Reliance (MAMSER), Professor Jerry Gana, on his 80th birthday.
OYMASED, in a statement by its Director General (DG), Dr. Morohunkola Thomas, on Monday, described Professor Gana as father of mobilization in Nigeria.
“OYMASED celebrates one of Nigeria’s distinguished statesmen, iconic scholar and father of mobilization in Nigeria, Professor Jerry Gana, as he clocks 80. Professor Jerry Gana’s life has been defined by decades of distinguished service to the nation,” Thomas said.
The statement added that Professor Gana “contributed immensely to the establishment of the Oyo State Mobilisation Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OYMASED).”
It stated that Professor Gana’s contribution to public service, academia and national development could not be over-emphasized.
While wishing the elder statesman a happy 80th birthday, Dr. Thomas said his life would continue to inspire generations to embrace leadership that contributes to national development.
