Insecurity: Northern Govs Converge On Kaduna For Crucial Meeting

The 19 Governors of Northern states are scheduled to meet today (Monday, 1 December) over the roiling insecurity in the region.

Under their umbrella Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), led by the Governor of Gombe State, Malam Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, the meeting will hold at the iconic Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

A statement by Ibraheem Musa, media aide to Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state, disclosed these.

Musa added that Gov. Sani will serve as host of the meeting.

The statement further added that “the high-level gathering will also include traditional rulers, security experts, and key stakeholders from across the region.

“The meeting will focus on the prevailing security challenges in Northern Nigeria, with the leaders expecting to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the situation and proffer sustainable solutions.

“Discussions will also extend to other critical issues affecting the development and overall progress of the region”, for the meeting venue.
