*Relief Coming To Middle Belt By Trump’s Nigeria CPC Designation -IPOB
*Group Demands Probe Into Financiers, Enablers of South-East Killings
*Many Leaders Lawless, Rely On Thugs -Binance Boss Alleges
Amid President Donald Trump’s threat of American military invasion of Nigeria to root out Islamic terrorists killing Christians, the Presidency today declared that President Bola Tinubu will soon meet Trump over the claim.
The said meeting, it further disclosed, is billed to hold “in the coming days.”
The development came as Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) hailed Trump for designating Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) due to the alleged Christian genocides, saying it is a moral victory for justice, truth and the sanctity of human life.
The self determination group also hailed US-based organizations such as American War Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID) and several others for the strong lobby in the US which,it claimed, produced the latest development.
In a post on X, Presidential Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, confirmed that the meeting between Tinubu and Trump will focus on the Nigerian Christian genocide claim.
“Both President Bola Tinubu and President Donald Trump have shared interest in the fight against insurgency and all forms of terrorism against humanity,” according to Bwala.
Trump had threatened military action against Nigeria to “wipe out” terrorists killing Christians in the country.
He also warned that the US might cut off all aid and assistance to Nigeria,if the latter fails to terminate genocide against Christians immediately.
He disclosed that Trump had previously supported Nigeria by approving arms sales, which the Tinubu administration has “adequately utilised” in its counterterrorism efforts.
IPOB Supports Nigeria’s Designation As CPC, Seeks Probe Of South-East Killings
On its part, IPOB backed Nigeria’s designation as a CPC.
Lending its weight to the development in a statement today, IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, recalled that a Canadian court had earlier designated both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the formerly ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) as terror-enabling organizations.
Appreciating Trump for taking the decision, IPOB described the designation of Nigeria as a moral victory for justice, truth and the sanctity of human life.
It urged the US government to go further and probe ethno-religious killings in Nigeria, particularly in the South-East.
The statement runs thus: “The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the able leadership of our supreme leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, warmly welcomes the recent designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern by the government of the United States.
“This development comes on the heels of the Canadian court’s landmark designation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as terror-enabling organisations.
“The IPOB family extends profound gratitude to President Donald J. Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, and to all patriotic Biafrans and friends of Biafra in the United States who have relentlessly championed this noble cause.
“Their courageous advocacy has brought global attention to the evil of religious persecution, state-sponsored violence, and sectarian killings that have long plagued Nigeria, particularly targeting the Christian and Igbo populations.
“This recognition is not merely symbolic; it represents a moral victory for justice, truth, and the sanctity of human life. By calling out the Nigerian state’s complicity in ethnic and religious violence, the international community has helped save countless lives that would otherwise have been lost to orchestrated insecurity and genocidal attacks.
“However, IPOB insists that the work of the US government and the broader international community is far from complete.
“There remains an urgent need for an independent international inquiry into the root causes of persistent ethno-religious killings and insecurity in Igboland.
“Such an inquiry is essential to unmask the perpetrators, financiers, and political enablers behind these heinous acts, and to ensure that justice is done in accordance with international human rights law.
“We salute the unyielding courage and resilience of all Biafrans worldwide, especially the exceptional advocacy of American Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID), Ambassadors for Self-Determination and Rising Sun, along with other advocates of liberty around the world who have continued to speak against tyranny, impunity, and the ongoing genocide against our people and Northern Nigeria Christian communities.
“History will remember your courage. Relief shall at last come to the people of the long suffering peoples of the Middle Belt region as a result of this designation.
“Once again, we commend all members of this great IPOB family for their unwavering determination in pursuit of freedom rooted in liberty for all. All of you played a part in this significant diplomatic milestone. Together, we have taken another step towards truth, justice, and the restoration of the dignity of all peoples trapped in this Lugardian contraption called Nigeria.”
Lawless Govt Running Nigeria, Relying On Thugs – Binance’s Tigran Gambaryan Alleges
Ex-Head of Financial Compliance, Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, has described Nigeria as being run by an alleged lawless government.
Gambaryan claimed that the Nigerian government depends on criminals and thugs allegedly more interested in enriching themselves.
He was reacting to Trump’s threat to cut American aid to Nigeria if the government fails to stop the killing of Christians.
Writing on X, Gambaryan posted: “Nigeria is currently run by a lawless regime that relies on criminals and thugs more interested in enriching themselves than in taking care of their citizens. Cowboy up.”
