As the Sokoto State House of Assembly continues its ongoing review of the 2025 budget performance, more Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have appeared before the various House Committees to present reports on the level of implementation within their sectors.
The Ministry of Information reported a 70 percent implementation level of its 2025 budget for the third quarter.
The Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Sambo Bello Danchadi, who took his turn, noted that the State Media Corporation has undergone significant reforms and improvements, resulting in enhanced operational efficiency and stronger service delivery.
Other MDAs that appeared before the Committees include the Ministry of Higher Education, led by Commissioner Isah Muhammad Maishanu; the Rural Development agency, represented by its Permanent Secretary; and the Ministry for Local Government led by Commissioner Ibrahim Dadi Adare.
Others are the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development, headed by Commissioner Bello Muhammad Wamakko; and the Ministry of Special Duties, represented by Permanent Secretary Isma’ila Ibrahim Binji.
In their separate presentations, the officials outlined their progress in executing government projects.
They expressed appreciation to State Governor Ahmad Aliyu and the 10th Assembly for instituting the quarterly budget review exercise –a practice they described as a departure from previous administrations, aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in public spending.
Responding, the Committees’ Chairmen Sa’idu N. Ibrahim, Mas’udu Muhammad Shagari, Buhari Haliru Yarima, Nasiru Adamu Goronyo, and Bashar Isah Jabo, commended the Ministries for their punctuality and dedication to the budget review process.
They reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to sustaining periodic budget oversight to ensure that all MDAs adhere strictly to approved expenditure guidelines under the 2025 Appropriation Law.
