As alignment and realignment among politicians continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, the South-West Zonal Public Relations Officer (PRO) of opposition New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hon. Kilamuwaye Badmus Oladayo, has resigned from the party.

Oladoye, in a letter dated 29 October, fired to the NNPP Chairman of his Ward 3 of Abeokuta South State Constituency 1, Ogun State, copies of which were sent to National Leader of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso; Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; the party’s governorship candidate in Ogun State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo; and the South-West Chairman of the party, thanked them for giving him the opportunity to serve.

He said he resigned his membership of the party and by extension the position of South-West PRO.

Oladoye, known for his grassroots mobilisation and media engagements within the NNPP structure, described his resignation as a “purely personal decision,” adding that his time in the party afforded him the platform to demonstrate his “political dexterity and sagacity.”

While he did not disclose his next political move, sources close to the former NNPP spokesman hinted that he might be taking time to reassess his political direction before making any future declarations.

Oladoye, a seasoned political communicator and activist, played significant roles in advancing NNPP’s visibility across the South-West geopolitical zone -dominated by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was instrumental in coordinating several public engagements that enhanced the party’s image during the last election cycle.

His political style, often described as dynamic and strategic, earned him recognition from key stakeholders, including Ambassador Oguntoyinbo, who had publicly commended Oladoye in previous events for his “unrelenting energy in mobilising the youth and defending the party’s ideals.”

Political observers in Ogun State and across the South-West have begun to speculate on the implications of his exit, given his influence among NNPP youth structures and his visible role during the 2023 general elections.

Party insiders described the move as “unexpected but respected,” with one official stating that his resignation “marks the end of an era of vibrant publicity and passionate advocacy for the party in the region.”
