UPDATE! PDP National Chairmanship Form Disappointment For Lamido, Threatens Court Action

“By the grace of God, I shall today, Monday, 27th October 2025, by 11 a.m., be at Wadata Plaza, the National Headquarters of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to purchase the nomination form to run for the office of National Chairman.”

These were the words of a hopeful National Chairmanship aspirant of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, this morning on his verified Facebook page.

A staunch party man, he duly approached the party’s national headquarters, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, as promised and on the stated time too, but ran into an unexpected brick wall.

Lamido was reportedly prevented from obtaining the form, a development which shocked him to the marrow.

Speaking to journalists outside the party headquarters, the two-term governor (2007-2015) expressed disappointment over the incident and vowed to seek redress in court if he was not allowed to participate in the forthcoming National Convention slated for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“I came here to buy the form for the chairmanship position, but I was denied. This is not the democracy our party stands for,” Lamido cried out.

“If this continues, I will have no choice but to approach the court for justice,” he threatened, obviously angry.

His move comes amid growing tension within the PDP ahead of the national convention, where new members of the National Working Committee (NWC) are expected to emerge.
