By Sam Tyav, Makurdi

Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Namibia, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, has endorsed Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia for re-election in 2027.

Addressing journalists at the NUJ House in Makurdi, the state capital, today, the former gubernatorial contender in the 2015 election, justified his choice on the ground that Gov. Alia has done a lot to impact lives in the Middle Belt state.

Tarzoor said that he had aspired to govern the state, pointing out, however, that what Gov. Alia has been doing are what he had intended to do for people of the state.

According to him, if, therefore, Alia is given a fresh term of four years, he would transform the state for the further benefit of Benue people.

Tarzoor noted that though Benue State’s highest ranking official in the President Bola Tinubu administration and Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, is his leader, he insisted that he (Tarzoor) has a right to decide what he wants to do, emphasizing that he has been overwhelmed with how Gov. Alia has been performing in the state.

Tarzoor assured that as a former gubernatorial contender, he retains a lot of supporters, adding that all his supporters were with him in his decision to endorse Alia for 2027.
