Alia Lauds FG On Projects In Benue State

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has lauded the President Bola Tinubu administration for the people-oriented projects he has embarked upon for the betterment of Nigerians.

Speaking on Sunday, 28 September, during an interdenominational church service at Christ Anglican Church, High Level, Makurdi, the state capital, which was organised by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in conjunction with the Benue State Government, to mark Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary, the Governor identified the key projects being executed in the state by the Federal Government (FG).

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Barrister Sam Ode, the governor noted that the FG was constructing an overhead bridge at Wurukum and dualizing Gboko road from Wurukum to River Mu.

Alia said hat the FG was also constructing bridges at river Buruku and Katsina Ala even as work was ongoing on the Ameladu waterworks in Gboko.

Governor Alia called on Benue people to support the government of President Tinubu as, according to him, Nigerians were benefiting from its programmes and policies, revealing that the removal of subsidy on petrol brought improvement in federal allocation to States and Local Governments.

He assured that the State Government would continue to execute projects that would have direct bearing on the lives of Benue people and called on the church as an institution to intensify prayers for Government to succeed.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman, Benue State branch of CAN, Rev. Jonathan Terwase Ugbede, who stood in for the Chairman, Bishop Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, appreciated all Nigerians for keeping faith with the country.

The CAN Chairman acknowledged the challenges Nigeria has been facing over the years, noting that despite these, Nigeria has remained an indivisible entity.

Anagbe who appreciated the Benue State Government for remaining supportive of CAN in the state, assured that the church in the state would not relent in praying for divine support for the State Government.

Appealing for a borehole to be drilled at the Christ Anglican Church, he also appreciated the governor for sponsoring 19 states’ CAN Chairmen to pilgrimage, expressing hope that the Governor would extend the same gesture to CAN members in the state.

Earlier in his message, a cleric, Bishop Eduka Amuta challenged Christians to yield their hearts to God, pointing out that grace and blessings would, by so doing, abound in their lives.
