Sokoto State House of Assembly has adopted a motion calling on the state government to establish a primary school in Sarkin Adar area of Kofar Atiku Ward in Sokoto South Local Government Area of the North-West state.

The motion was presented by Hon. Aminu Garba Gidado, member representing Sokoto South II constituency, and seconded by Hon. Mustapha Abdullahi, who represents Sokoto South I.

Elaborating on the motion, Hon. Gidado noted that the absence of a primary school in the area has forced parents to enroll their children in schools outside the community, causing undue hardship and inconvenience for families seeking quality education for their young ones.

He emphasized that the proposed school would align with the 9-point Agenda of State Governor Ahmad Aliyu, which prioritizes improved educational standards across the state.

The members representing Yabo constituency, Honorables Abubakar Shehu, and Sokoto North I, Buhari Haliru Yarima, rose in support of the motion.

Later, Assembly Speaker, Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga, announced that the Assembly had resolved to call on the State government to establish a primary school in Sarkin Adar area of Kofar Atiku Ward as soon as possible.
