Ibom Air: I Will Tell My Story, Let Me Take Medical Treatment First -Freed Emmanson

A bombshell –replete with chilly details –is expected when Comfort Emmanson opens up on her side to the story of the Ibom Air saga, which led her to a stint in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, Lagos.

The young lady at the centre of a controversy which the airline, aviation regulator Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the police alleged bordered on unruly behavior, assault on airline staff and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, was freed from prison remand today following Federal Government’s order to the relevant bodies to withdraw the case against her in court.

Though government stated that its intervention was purely on compassionate grounds, human rights groups, the civil society, some lawyers and other Nigerians had literally roasted the authorities on social media and other platforms over their handling of the vexed matter.

Released today on the orders of an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ogba, Lagos, Ms Emmanson promised Nigerians and the world to tell her own story once she is in better health.

Her health, she stated, got degraded on account of pains she received in the course of her ordeal.

Emmanson, who took to her Instagram today, August 13, shortly after her release from Kirikiri, stated that all she needs now is rest from the pains inflicted on her as a result of how she was treated.

She thanked God Almighty and Nigerians for standing behind her during the ordeal.

Her post: “I want to sincerely thank Nigerians for their prayers and support during my ordeal.

“I’ve been released from the prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated.

“I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event.

“Thank you so much, my lovely friends and supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart. God bless y’all. THANK YOU MY GREAT GOD!!!”

Recall that during her disagreement with some Ibom Air crew, videos which later went viral showed her stripped publicly with her naked breasts dangling as she was being dragged out of the aircraft, on arrival in Lagos.

Emmanson was later arraigned in court, and remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre, until government’s intervention.
