From Plane To Prison, Ibom Air ‘Assailant’ Remanded In Kirikiri

By our reporter

Ms Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger who reportedly assaulted airline officials on a flight from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, to Lagos, has reportedly been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre following her arraignment in court today.

This was disclosed by Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser (Media and Communications) to Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, today.

Emmanson, a young lady, had earlier been slammed with a lifetime ban by Ibom Air which announced that she has been prohibited from ever traveling in any of the airline’s planes.

The Ministerial aide broke news of the arraignment and remand in a post on X shortly after aviation regulator, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.

Recall a similar incident involving Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (aka KWAM 1) and ValueJet, another airline, in which the singer, said to be close to the Presidency, sought to halt the aircraft from taxiing after he was denied entry on suspicion of carrying a flask containing alcohol.

The musician has since apologized for his behavior, but insisted that the flask contained water and not alcohol.
