UPDATE! Fear Of High BP Made Me Not Want To Watch WAFCON Final -Tinubu Confesses, Decorates Team With Multimillion Naira Cash, 3-Bedroom Houses, National Honours


President Bola Tinubu today revealed that he did not want to watch Saturday’s final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON),which Nigeria’s Super Falcons won, because he was scared of developing high blood pressure (BP).

Hosting the Super Falcons at Aso Villa, Nigeria’s seat of power, Tinubu said: “Honestly, I did not want to watch the match. I didn’t want high blood pressure.

“But people came into my room and turned on my TV to that channel.

“When it was 2-0, I got very restless and very offended. But I was still there watching.

“I was impressed by the indomitable spirit of resilience, determination and courage of the team,” he said.

From same Aso Villa, came a downpour of cash and honours for the Super Falcons.

In a dramatic turnaround, the Super Falcons came from behind, at 0-2 down in the first half, to score three unreplied goals in the second half to beat the hosts and lift the coveted trophy for a tenth time.

For their efforts, President Tinubu showered each of the 24 players with about N150million (or $100,000) and about N75million (or $50,000) for each member of the technical crew.

Not done yet, President Tinubu gave each of them the National Honour of Officer of Order of the Niger (OON).

Each member of the team was also given a three-bedroom apartment within the Renewed Hope Estate in Abuja.
