Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has honoured the State Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan with an honorary award for exemplary services to the people.
Four other distinguished personalities from the state were also given awards by the governor.
The awards were bestowed on the beneficiaries at Wukari, headquarters of Wukari Local Government Area (LGA) of the state through Kefas’ pet project, Community Center for Dialogue (CCD).
These were contained in a signed statement issued to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital by the ALGON Chairman,who doubles as Chairman of Jalingo LGA of the state.
The statement read,in part: “This prestigious award recognizes five influential individuals in Taraba State for their outstanding contributions to community development and social cohesion.”
Those honored,it stated, were “Mrs. Esther Kefas, affectionately known as Mama Atsi, revered as the “Mother of Taraba” and a guiding figure to His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State.
“Hon. Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, celebrated for his impactful leadership and dedication to the progress of Jalingo Local Government and Taraba State at large.
“Hon. Agbu Samaila Dauda, Executive Chairman of Wukari Local Government and ALGON Vice Chairman of Taraba State.
“Prof. Senator Dalhatu Umaru Sangari, a distinguished academic and statesman.
“General Adamu Tubasen Ibrahim, recognized for his service and contributions to the state.”
Dr. Hassan was represented at the occasion by Alhaji Rizi, who received the award on his behalf.
“This recognition underscores Dr. Hassan’s unwavering commitment to promoting dialogue, unity, and sustainable development within Jalingo metropolis and across Taraba State,” the statement noted.
