Police, Other Security Agencies In Benue To Synergize -CP

Benue State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to work in synergy with other security agencies to protect lives and property of people of the state.

Briefing journalists on Thursday, June 19, at the State Police headquarters in Makurdi, the state capital, State Commissioner of Police (CP), Emenari Ifeanyi, expressed the Command’s desire to ensure the safety of the people.

The Police boss appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visit to the state, adding that it has brought hope to people in the affected communities and other areas.

Ifeanyi, who lauded the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, for the deployment of special forces, revealed that the IGP also provided advanced equipment to enable the police perform their job maximally.

He emphasised that the Command would continue to remain vigilant and committed in securing the lives and property of the people to avoid a repeat of the Yelwata killings where over 200 persons were slaughtered by armed herdsmen.

Appreciating the media for their coverage of police activities, the Commissioner appealed to the general public to remain supportive by providing useful information with which Police would work for the benefit of society.
