Aniocha South APC Threatens Spokesman With Disciplinary Measures

*’You Lack Authority To Speak For Us Over Ned Nwoko’

Aniocha South Local Government Area (LGA) branch of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, South-South Nigeria, has slammed the party’s branch Publicity Secretary, Prince P.C. Izediunor, over certain goings-on in the party.

A press statement signed by the branch Secretary, Mr Sunday Ashibuogwu, berated the spokesman for taking a stand allegedly contrary to the party’s general position on the re-election bid of Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the Senate.

Apparently, the party’s LG branch stands opposed to the senator’s second term aspiration.

Accusing the Publicity Secretary of not issuing even a single press release since he became the spokesman, Ashibuogwu wondered why it had to be now that Izediunor remembered his duty, stressing that he lacks the mandate or capacity to speak for the party in the LG.

The statement, issued today, read: “We wish to categorically state that Prince PC Izediunor lacks the authority, mandate, or clearance to issue such a statement on behalf of APC Aniocha South.

“Since assuming the role of Publicity Secretary, he has not authored a single publication nor made any official communication in that capacity as we are already used to his inabilities.

“This sudden and unauthorized release, therefore, raises serious suspicion of external manipulation, and appears to be the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to sow discord within our party.

“We strongly advise Prince Izediunor to issue a public disclaimer immediately and dissociate himself from the said publication.

“Should he fail to comply, the party will not hesitate to invoke the disciplinary measures provided in the APC Constitution to ensure accountability and uphold party discipline.

“Furthermore, we wish to reaffirm that the decision of our Capacity Local Government Party Chairman, Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma (NAS) alongside his proactive colleagues across Delta North, distancing themselves from the purported endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for 2nd term or as the leader of the APC in the district, remains binding and reflects the true position of the grassroots leadership of the party.

“These Chairmen are the legitimate custodians of the party structure in their respective LGAs, and their collective voice must be respected by all party faithfuls.

“It is, therefore, selfish, insensitive, and politically inconsiderate for any individual or group to attempt to unilaterally endorse or project a second-term ambition for any political figure without broad-based consultation, especially at a time when our great party is experiencing rapid expansion, growing membership, and renewed grassroots strength.

“We urge all party members to remain focused, united, and committed to the growth of the APC in Aniocha South and across Delta North. Discipline, inclusiveness, and collective decision-making remain the pillars of our progress.”
