Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, had sterling engagements in Southern Borno on Wednesday, inaugurating projects and schemes that directly impact the lives of the citizenry, a statement by his media aide, Abdurraman Bundi, has disclosed.
The governor inaugurated state-of-the-art eye and dental hospitals which are fully equipped.
Zulum appointed a team of highly trained medical doctors and specialists to offer treatments in oral health services such as preventive care, orthodontics and restorative treatments, as well as cataract, glaucoma and other vision-related ailments.
The governor also inaugurated a mega secondary school in Miringa, a community about 10 kilometers from Biu town, Biu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The 60-classroom school, equipped with ICT centre and four laboratories, among other facilities for enhanced teaching and learning, is designed to accommodate over 1,300 students.
Zulum also distributed N1 billion to support small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) and vulnerable residents of Biu and Hawul, while commencing the construction of 600 houses in five LGAs.
