We Do Not Know Of Alleged Bid To Kill Senator Usman,Says Kaduna Police Command

Kaduna state police command has declared that it is not aware of an alleged assassination attempt on Senator Lawal Usman.

The serving senator represents Kaduna Central in the nation’s upper legislative chamber.

A statement issued on Thursday, January 2, and signed by the command’s spokesman, Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Mansir Hassan, revealed their position on the matter.

The senator had,in a Facebook post, disclosed how he escaped an assassination bid on his life.

The police statement read: “The attention of the command has been drawn to a publication on the Facebook handle of Sen. Lawal Adamu Usman, PDP, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, that he escaped an assassination attempt by some thugs in yet to be identified location in Kaduna North on 02/01/25. No time of incident was given.

“Without mincing words, the
Command is yet to receive any formal complaint from the distinguished Senator, aside from this astonishing publication on the social media, and all efforts to contact him proved abortive.”

The state Commissioner of Police (CP), Muhammad Rabiu, has, therefore, ordered a full-scale investigation into the alleged assassination attempt, the statement added.

The command also reiterated its commitment to providing adequate security for everyone within the North-Central, Nigeria state.
