S’East Governors Hold Crucial Meeting In Enugu

Governors of the five states of the South East geopolitical zone is holding a crucial meeting in Enugu. The agenda could not be ascertained as at press time.

The meeting which is being attended by some stakeholders, including the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, is taking place at the Government House, Enugu.

It was gathered that all the South East governors are physically attending the meeting.

The governors are Alex Otti of Abia, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, and the host governor, Mr Peter Mbah.

The reason for the meeting is not stated, but there are indications that it might not be unconnected with the security situation in the zone and the issue of the continued detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The Biafran agitator who is standing trial, has had his bail application severally refused.

In recent weeks, there were rumors of a political solution to his case and a possible out of court settlement.
