About 2108 civil servants in Benue State this week completed promotion interviews as part of another move by the state government to motivate its workforce through career progression.
The interview was organized by the State Public Service Institute, Makurdi, in collaboration with Office of the State Head of Service.
The promotion interview was for the years 2025, 2026 and the 2024 supplementary interview.
Director General (DG) of the Institute, Professor Terkura Tarnande, who spoke before commencement of conduct of the interview, warned all invigilators not to do anything capable of compromising the expected high standards.
The DG expressed confidence in all members of the three panels saddled with the responsibility of conducting the promotion interview, noting that the interview result would certainly be credible and unchallenged.
He urged all members to put in their best to ensure the success of the exercise.
Chairman of the exercise, Dr. Andrew Amee, also warned members of the three panels to maintain orderliness and urged the deserving civil servants to adhere strictly to their scheduled days for the exercise even as he warned that there would be no mop-up interview after the entire exercise.
Eligible civil servants who attended the promotion interview expressed enthusiasm over the exercise with some of them who spoke expressing satisfaction that they would be promoted if they successfully scale the interview hurdle.
Some said they were joyful on being considered for promotion interview, revealing that they had stagnated on one salary grade level for long with others saying they had just few months to retire from service.
