*Again, Southern Kaduna Boils

Heavily armed terrorists have reportedly attacked Angwan Gwari in Tudun Wada community, Kujama, headquarters of Chikun Local Government Area (LGA), southern part of Kaduna State, killing two persons instantly and abducting a dozen others.
Eight of the kidnapped persons are members of the Jonathan family resident in the area.
The incident which occurred in the early hours of Sunday between 12:00midnight and 2:00am, sparked panic as residents scampered for safety amid sporadic gunshots, while some fled the community altogether.
Commandant of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in the area, Sule Adams, who resides in the neighbouring community of Maraban Rido, and who confirmed the incident, said the assailants stormed the affected area with heavy arms and proceeded to carry out the operation.
He identified the kidnapped persons as Mercy Jonathan, Peace Jonathan, Bartholomew Jonathan, and Bethel Jonathan.
Others are Steven Jonathan, Bulus Jonathan, Nation Jonathan, and Jacob Jonathan.
The remaining abducted persons are Joy Silas, Destiny Silas, Candy Thomas and Saviour Emmanuel.
Adams further disclosed that two residents, identified as Ayuba Barau and Mary Augustine, lost their lives during the attack.
He described the incident as tragic and a stark reminder of the persistent insecurity facing communities in the area, stressing the urgent need for intensified security measures.
Adams called on security agencies to scale up patrols and strengthen intelligence gathering to forestall further attacks, while urging government at all levels to take decisive and lasting action to address the situation.
Adams also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives by providing timely and useful information.
As of the time of filing the report, the Kaduna State Police Command was yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
Unconfirmed reports from the community Monday evening indicated that the terrorists, allegedly on further bloodthirsty mission, returned and killed several persons over reasons not made clear.
