*Activist Reveals ISWAP Secret Night Market
By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna
Popular Borno State-born human rights activist and Director General (DG), Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, has sounded the alarm over what he alleged to be the discriminatory input of the State government in efforts towards release of 13 of 28 females recently abducted by Boko Haram in the troubled North-East state.
Rev. Dikwa said those released, allegedly through state government’s facilitation, are all Muslims, querying why similar pains were not taken to ensure freedom for the Christian girls and women among the abductees.
To the activist, the government’s action amounted to discrimination based on religion.
Rev. Dikwa disclosed these in a statement made available exclusively to People&Politics.
He, however, gave no evidence of government’s input in the release process.
According to the statement, while 15 of the victims were kidnapped in Dille village of Askira Uba Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State on 4th and 11th December, 2025, the other 13 were abducted at Huyim village.
The latter set, Dikwa stated, was released through the State government’s intervention.
According to the statement, the 15 kidnapped at Dille village are all Christians and were yet to be released.
Rev. Dikwa gave their names as Jagila Kefas Kuza; Midilda Jim; Jashilagar Joseph; Wasini Madu; Ayakeanyi Papka; Ntari Asinadai; Babe Jasibu; Martina Ijai; Jagila Kani and Monica Ijai.
Others,he stated, are Jashina Apagu; Wabulu Papka; Aisha Fali Bobo; Kwabzugu Sunday and Rose Jarafu.
“All the Christian girls and women are not released. But the 13 Muslim girls and women that were kidnapped at Huyim village were released through intervention of Borno State government,” he stated.
Provides Alleged Phone Numbers Of Abductors
Rev. Dikwa further provided some WhatsApp phone numbers allegedly belonging to the Boko Haram abductors.
He stated: “B’Haram contact WhatsApp numbers: 09047966563 09120520972, Phone numbers: 08087860762 09043391418,
Contact person from the village whom they used to contact via his WhatsApp number: 07011523252 and his phone number: 07019311527.
“The contact person is a husband to one of the kidnapped female victims.”
In a further shocking allegation, the rights activist claimed that he forwarded the said phone numbers to security agencies in the state, but stated that no tangible action was taken on the matter of moving to release the Christian victims.
“Let’s continue to pray for their safe release. I have tried my best and sent the contact to the security agencies but the security leaders are not serious about the matter.
“I have sent this information to the security agencies since 07-01-2026; nothing has been done till date,” he stated.
Turning to related occurrences, Rev. Dikwa stated that “the driver that was abducted by B’Haram with 6 women passengers, 4 Christian women were held, and 2 Muslims were released with the driver.”
Recalling the incident, the rights activist explained that “on the 14th-01-2026, Madam Monday, owner of Mubarak Restaurant Biu, 3 other Christian women, were abducted.
“According to the driver, about 12 cars with their passengers were abducted by the B’Haram along Biu-Damaturu road. The phone contact of the driver is 09024275846; he’s Fali by name, carrying passengers from Maiduguri to Biu.”
ISWAP Secret Night Market
Dikwa also disclosed the existence of a village called Tumbudi in Gubio LGA in Borno State, where,he alleged, ISWAP terrorists “built an ‘underground’ town and market”, saying the commercial facility is booming.
He did not, however, state if the said market is known to the authorities.
The volume of business in the market, he added, was such that traders came all the way from the state capital, Maiduguri, to transact business in the facility, which opens every Tuesday.
“The business men leave Maiduguri to Gubio on Sunday, for Gubio market day. After close of the market from Gubio, they move to Gazare on Sunday evening around 10:00pm on Monday; then they leave Gazaure to Tumbudi and arrive the market 1:00am and close 4:00am,” he revealed.
How Trader Bolted With N10m Terrorists’ Money
Rev. Dikwa made another shocking revelation, saying one of the traders informed him how ISWAP leaders gave him the sum of N10 million to buy goods for them from Maiduguri, “but he refused to go back again.”
Lamenting that these disclosures had allegedly received no official attention, Rev. Dikwa added: “It’s no longer a secret now that the ethno-religious problems now bringing Nigerian government to its knees ought to be addressed by telling ourselves the open truth no matter whose ox is gored.”
Some of those who should solve these challenges, he alleged, “shied away from facing this problem squarely because of the tin gods that live among us and seem to be above the laws of the land and/or are sacred cows.
“I think it is easy to stop Fulani ethnic group bandits kidnappers, Kanuri ethnic group B’Haram and ISWAP terrorists attacks in this country if truth is to be told and the government has the political will.”
Rev. Dikwa, a former Muslim-turned-Christian leader, stated that some “Islamic scholars, Muslim traditional rulers, government officials and security agents are supporting the terrorists groups.
“It is a common adage that if you want to effectively remove a tree you must remove it from its root.”
He joined many Nigerians in condemning the reported plan by the Katsina State government to release some so-called repentant terrorists from prison and rehabilitate them.
To Dikwa, such arrangement will only worsen the insecurity in the land.
Contacted by People&Politics, an aide of Professor Babagana Zulum, the Borno State Governor, who pleaded anonymity because of the nature of the claim on deliberate non-intervention to release the female Christian abductees, denied knowledge of the matter, pointing out, however, that the request had been forwarded to relevant government officials for briefing.
The aide’s response went thus: “Good evening, my brother. I am sorry for responding late. I am not aware of this incident, but I have forwarded it to the relevant persons for briefing.
“However, it is unfortunate that some people deliberately sensationalize the Boko Haram crisis instead of uniting to confront a common enemy.
“The Boko Haram crisis since 2009 affected the Muslims exceedingly higher that it has affected Christians. I am sure the person who sent this is aware that the serving Vice Chairman and the immediate past Vice Chairman of Biu, both Muslims, have been in the custody of Boko Haram for more than a month now.”
Nonetheless, as of press time, no other reaction had come from the state government or the police.
