Olaosebikan Emerges as Rallying Point for APC’s 2027 Push in Oluyole

Chief Kehinde Olaosebikan, former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, is fast re-establishing himself as a key driver of the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s grassroots resurgence in the local government, as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.

Speaking at the APC Unity Rally held in the Olomi area of Oluyole, Olaosebikan outlined a deliberate strategy anchored on voter mobilisation, party expansion, and internal cohesion, which he said would significantly boost support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the next election cycle.

According to him, electoral success is built from the grassroots upward, stressing that the party’s focus has shifted to increasing the number of eligible voters who register, collect their Permanent Voter Cards, and actively participate on election day.

Beyond the impressive turnout at the rally, Olaosebikan said party leaders and executives in Oluyole are united in their resolve to outperform the party’s showing in the 2023 elections. In that election, APC recorded 16,437 votes in the local government, ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which polled 5,119 votes, and the Labour Party (LP), which secured 4,816 votes.

As Convener of the PBAT-KO Grassroots Movement in Oluyole, Olaosebikan revealed that the party has experienced a steady inflow of new members, including political heavyweights, respected community figures, and traditional rulers, a development he described as a clear sign of APC’s growing acceptance at the local level.

He explained that the movement, headquartered at the CICU Building along Olojuoro Road in Olomi, has been touring all 229 polling units across the ten wards of the local government. Recent visits, he noted, took the mobilisation drive to Gbaleasun Village, one of the most remote communities in Oluyole, where residents were sensitised on the Continuous Voter Registration exercise and APC membership registration.

Olaosebikan maintained that the outreach efforts would be sustained, assuring that no community would be left untouched in the drive to secure maximum votes for President Tinubu and APC candidates in 2027.

On the state of the party, the two-time local government chairman said APC in Oluyole is enjoying an unprecedented level of unity, attributing this to the leadership of the local government party chairman, Alhaji Waheed Akinleye, and other party executives. He noted that years of internal divisions have given way to cooperation and shared purpose.

Drawing from his experience as South-West Zonal Coordinator for Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Chairman of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Media Committee in Oyo State during the 2023 elections, Olaosebikan also commended Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, the Renewed Hope Ambassador for Oyo State, and other party leaders for initiating the Unity Rally.

He said the rally has strengthened reconciliation efforts across the state and is already translating into renewed confidence and mass participation within the party.

With the scale of mobilisation on display in Oluyole, Olaosebikan declared that APC is steadily repositioning itself as the dominant political force in the area, adding that the party’s renewed unity and grassroots focus would define its electoral fortunes in the years ahead.
