FCTA ERC Director Leads Power-Packed Practical Session On Entrepreneurship Education

To help demystify entrepreneurship and make it easier for teachers to translate theory into meaningful practical student-led projects, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA)’s Education Resource Centre(ERC) team, led by the Director, Dr Neemat Daud Abdulrahim, has once again demonstrated its leadership in instructional innovation.

The practical session with a power-packed demonstration was the highlight of a recent training programme for FCT teachers.

The Director displayed an exceptional series of demonstrations that simplified complex concepts, making them accessible, relatable and immediately applicable in classroom settings.

In her remarks, the Director emphasized that practical exposure remains one of the strongest tools for effective teaching.

“We believe that when teachers experience learning in action, it gives them the confidence to recreate the same level of engagement in their classrooms. Our goal is to ignite that spark,” she stated.

The practical and interactive session stressed on gender, disability and the socio-cultural.

Further demonstrating her presentation titled ‘Building an inclusive future: Promoting Gender Diversity in Entrepreneurship Education’, Dr Abdulrahim said: “True education, entrepreneurship and empowerment is leaving no one behind, every gender and everybody.”

She noted that females, minorities and people living with disabilities face challenges when it comes to accessing entrepreneurship education, acknowledging, however, that with the new curriculum focusing on entrepreneurship, this will shape the minds of students to accept the trend “by creating an environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to learn, grow, succeed and express themselves without any socio-cultural or gender bias.”

Abdulrahim expressed confidence that FCT is ready for the new curriculum, urging participants not to relent in raising the bar in entrepreneurship education.

The Director stated that due to our diverse environment, classrooms are filled with girls, boys, disabled and minorities form different cultural and social backgrounds.
