Leading the nation’s labour movement has not quenched the thirst of President, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, for the golden fleece of higher education as he moved a huge notch up in that wise at the weekend.
Comrade Ajaero bagged the prestigious Masters in Law (LLM) from one of Nigeria’s finest private universities, Baze University, Abuja, at its convocation ceremony Saturday.
What’s more, he bagged the LLM with Distinction.
Personally touched, the NLC President gushed: “I thank God for granting me Distinction in the Masters in Law, LLM category.”
In an outpouring of admiration, international and national associates, friends, relations, admirers and many others reacted, besieging the labour icon with loads of congratulatory messages for a man who has devoted a large chunk of his life fighting for the betterment of Nigerian workers’ welfare, even suffering several blows from retrogressive and anti-worker forces in the process.
Being one never to be disillusioned or hindered by any hurdles, however, Comrade Ajaero swept all of that behind him and set his sights on earning the much-coveted LLM –and now its in the kitty.
NLC sources do not rule out the labour leader gunning for a Doctorate in Law –a dizzying height even many Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) have not attained.
