Benue Assembly Speaker, Dajoh, Resigns

In a shock move, Speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, today resigned his position.

In a four-paragraph hand-written letter he wrote and signed, addressed to the Clerk of the State Assembly, Dijoh stated that his resignation was “in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”

The letter, a copy of which was obtained by People&Politics , was dated August 24,2025.

He thanked his colleagues for the opportunity they “gave me to be first among equals.”

“I pledge to remain committed to my duties as a legislator and representative of Gboko West State constituency,” he concluded.
