Tinubu Commissions Abuja’s 15-Km OSEX Service Carriageway


President Bola Tinubu has praised the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and his team for successfully completing 17 key infrastructure projects to mark the second anniversary of his administration.

The commendation occurred during the inauguration of the 15-kilometer left-hand service carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), which connects Ring Road I to Wasa Junction in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Represented by Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, President Tinubu lauded the initiative as crucial for improving urban mobility and connecting Abuja’s city center with rapidly developing districts.

He highlighted the OSEX’s significance in enhancing the quality of life for FCT residents and emphasized its role as a vital transport backbone.

The President also commended the quality of construction and the efforts to relocate Apo Mechanic Village traders, expressing confidence in a successful resolution of the endeavor.

Wike, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the President’s support, reaffirming the commitment to completing ongoing projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda, for improved connectivity within the FCT.

He disclosed plans for the dualization of the OSEX main carriageways, promising to supervise the relocation of the Mechanic Village.

Thanking the President, Minister of State, FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, acknowledged the contributions of the National Assembly and highlighted Wike’s visionary leadership in delivering essential infrastructure.

Acting Executive Secretary, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, provided a technical overview of the project, which is part of a broader plan to develop a 10-lane expressway ultimately linking Abuja to the Federal Highway A2.
