Black Sallah Averted In Abuja As FEMD Rescues ‘One Chance’ Victim

What could have been a fatal Sallah for a woman, identified as Khadija Salisu, turned out relatively better as she was rescued from possible death by operatives of Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD) on Friday, June 6.

She was rescued after being forcefully pushed out of a moving vehicle by suspected men of the underworld known locally as ‘one chance’.

A statement on Friday night, signed by Head of Public Affairs, FEMD, Nkechi Isa, and made available to People&Politics , which contained these, added that the incident happened at Powerhouse bus stop junction,Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Asokoro District, Abuja, the nation’s capital, about 4.30 pm.

Following the incident, FEMD’s Search and Rescue Team was notified by the FCT Fire Service, Isa stated.

She quoted eye witnesses at the scene as saying that “it could be a suspected robbery incident known locally as ‘one chance’.”

The statement read: “On arrival at the scene, the Search and Rescue Team found the victim identified as Khadija Salisu unconscious and without visible physical injury.

“Members of the team promptly took her to the Asokoro District Hospital, where she was responding to treatment”, as of press time.
