Conductor Dies In Anambra Motor Crash

A bus conductor, Thursday evening, died in a motor accident that occurred at Tanza by Ifeanyichukwu Motors, along Nteje-Awka-Onitsha expressway in Anambra State.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Christopher Obodieze with a commercial Mercedes Actros truck with registration number WKR824XA. The accident was attributed to tyre burst.

An eyewitness said the driver lost control as a result of tyre burst and fell on the road.

RC Margaret B Onabe, acting Sector Public Education Officer, FRSC, Anambra State, confirmed that, “Two male adults were involved in the crash. One male adult sustained injuries while another male adult, the conductor, was killed.”

She stated that before the arrival of FRSC rescue team, Ogidi Police Division personnel had taken the killed victim to the morgue.

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander, Anambra State, Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, commiserated with the family of the dead victim, and sent his prayers to the injured person.

He urged motorists to ensure their tyres are duly checked before using the road. He emphasised the importance of spare tyres on all vehicles.
