Police authorities in Borno State have confirmed the death of Professor Ruth Haruna Wazis, former Head of the Department of Business Management, University of Maiduguri. She lost her life in a domestic accident.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Yusuf Lawal, confirmed that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2024.
It was gathered that she had parked her car in her garage when a mechanical malfunction caused the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly, knocking her down and running over her.
The CP said she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries before being taken to the hospital, adding that her remains were taken to the hospital by members of her family.
