Agbaja Centre of Excellence Project To Be Unveiled as Summit 2025 Opens

Leaders of Agbaja communities in Enugu State will unveil plans for the proposed Agbaja Centre of Excellence (ACE) as the Agbaja Summit 2025 opens in Enugu on Wednesday.

The iconic structure, slated for construction at 9th Mile, is designed to serve as a central hub for Agbaja conferences, meetings, and skill acquisition programmes. The proposed two-storey complex will feature a convention arena, large and medium event halls, multiple office spaces, and computer hubs.

The summit, which begins with a colloquium at the Amadeo Event Centre, Ebeano Tunnel Road, will focus on the theme: “Education and Skill Acquisition.”

Former Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo is the Chief Host while the keynote address will be delivered by Monsignor Obiora Ike.

This year’s event will also honour notable sons and daughters of the area. Among them are the former Paramount Ruler, Chief Onyeama Onwusi, former Governor CC Onoh, Chief GMC Chinze, Mrs. Unoma Godswill Akpabio, Iyom Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, among others.

The facility will also host the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme and provide space for engagements involving Agbaja people from within and outside Nigeria. Its proposed location at 9th Mile, he noted, was chosen for its accessibility and central positioning within Agbajaland.

Community leaders say excitement is building among Agbaja indigenes, their in-laws, friends, and development partners, many of whom have signaled willingness to support the project. A financing model for the initiative has been developed and will be presented during the summit.

Agbaja Summit 2025, which is open to the public, runs from November 26 to 27 and is expected to attract participants from across Nigeria and beyond.
