In preparation for the forthcoming Eid el-Fitr celebration, Zamfara State Police Command has conducted a coordinated, confidence-building patrol and show of force across Gusau metropolis,the state capital.
The operation involved tactical teams, divisional officers, and sister security agencies to ensure a secure environment for residents.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Danladi Muhammad, who took charge of the initiative, directed all Area Commanders to replicate the exercise within their jurisdictions to reinforce public safety and deter criminal activities before, during, and after the festivity, tentatively billed for early next week.
The operation underscored the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property while fostering trust between security forces and the community.
Emphasizing professionalism, the DCP urged officers to adhere to the policing vision of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and uphold human rights standards throughout the operation.
Any unprofessional conduct will not be tolerated, he warned.
The Command reassured residents, particularly the Muslim faithful, of a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah celebration.
