Police,Allies In Zamfara Claim Credit For Neutralizing Top Bandit Mudale

Police in Zamfara State, North West Nigeria, said they have neutralized a long-sought bandit kingpin, identified as Dan Isuhu Mudale, who had been terrorizing parts of the state as well as neighbouring states.

A statement by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, Yazid Abubakar, on Thursday night, March 27, disclosed this.

Abubakar said Mudale was neutralized in a gun battle with police operatives.

The statement read: “As part of the Zamfara State Police Command’s efforts to rid the state of crime and restore confidence among its citizens, a joint operation was conducted to repel a bandits’ attack on Keta town in Tsafe LGA.

“At approximately 1540hrs, a good Samaritan reported that a large number of armed bandits had stormed Keta town with the intention of perpetrating their inhumane acts.

“In response, a joint operation comprising PMF, CTU, hunters, and CPG mobilized and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle.

“Regrettably, one PMF personnel, four Community Protection Guard (CPG) members, and two hunters made the ultimate sacrifice during the attack.

“Two hunters are currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau.

“However, the operation was successful in neutralizing a large number of bandits, including the notorious kingpin Dan Isuhu Mudale, who had been terrorizing Tsafe and its environs.

“The Zamfara State Police Command reassures the good people of the state of its total commitment to restoring peace and urges citizens to report any suspicious behavior to the security agencies for prompt action.”
