Benue Monarch Seeks Collaboration With Stakeholders To End Violence

Second class traditional ruler in Benue State, His Royal Highness, the Ter Katsina Ala, Chief Simon Gbakaan Tativ, has sought the collaboration of other royal fathers and relevant stakeholders in the area to fight insecurity and restore peace.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with PeopleandPolitics.net newspaper in his Makurdi residence, the Ter Katsina Ala expressed concern over the spate of insecurity in the area and expressed the belief that with strong collaboration with relevant stakeholders, peace would be restored in the area.

The paramount ruler noted that there would be no development where there is no peace, assuring that he would stop at nothing in ensuring that permanent peace returns to the area.

The traditional ruler, who was coronated king few weeks ago, appreciated Benue State Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his proactive approach in addressing security issues.

To him, the governor’s firm stand on security issues had prevented it from escalating.

The royal father disclosed that he had already held a meeting with the Tor Sankera and other relevant stakeholders in the area and their desire is to bring permanent peace to the area.

The monarch revealed that he was crowned king because God Almighty had destined it,noting that God had told him that he was going to be crowned king and this was why he refused to run for any elective position in the state.

On what transpired during the process leading up to his installation as monarch, he revealed that Gov. Alia did not intervene in the selection process which eventually saw his emergence as traditional ruler.

He called on the people of the area to support him to enable him succeed.
