Journalists in Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria, have extended deep appreciation to the State Governor, Dauda Lawal, and other leaders over their unwavering support and commitment to the welfare of media practitioners during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan.
In a signed statement made available to newsmen today, March 23, by Secretary of the state Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Ibrahim Ahmed Gada, the Council Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare, expressed gratitude to Gov. Lawal and members of the State Executive Council for their dedication to advancing the media community, saying it has not gone unnoticed.
“The initiatives you have introduced have significantly enhanced our ability to serve the people of Zamfara effectively,” he said.
Comrade Maizare also acknowledged the contribution of Senator AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto), whose support,he stated, has been instrumental in fostering goodwill between the leaders and the media.
“Your willingness to listen to our concerns and address them has fortified our working relationship and strengthened our dedication to truthful reporting,” he said.
Maizare further conveyed the appreciation of the Council to Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Minister of Defence, Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi (Dan Malikin Gidan Goga), stressing that his efforts to facilitate assistance during Ramadan have provided vital support to NUJ members and their families.
The NUJ Chairman affirmed that the generous gestures exemplified the “spirit of unity and compassion that we strive for as a community; we are inspired by your commitment to improving the welfare of journalists in the state, and it encourages us to continue our work with renewed vigor.”
Maizare added: “As we move forward, we assure you of our commitments, continued collaboration and mutual support for the progress of Zamfara State and Nigeria as a whole. Together, we can build a stronger foundation for journalism that serves the interests of our citizens and upholds the values of democracy.”
