Ramadan: Zamfara APC Heavyweights Rain Billions of Naira, Foodstuffs, Materials On Party Members

Chairman and members of State Working Committee (SWC) of Zamfara State chapter of the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) today, March 23, offered profuse appreciation to top leaders of the party for their various gestures of milk of human kindness to party members during the ongoing Ramadan.

These top leaders include serving Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, several former governors, senators, and many other high networth personalities.

The contributions were to ensure APC members in the state had a stress-free Ramadan and broke the fast daily with joy.

The SWC also thanked them for seeing to unity in the party and supporting its activities.

A communique issued by the SWC after a meeting, today, under the party’s State Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, disclosed these.

The communique read, in part: “The party wishes to strongly commend the individual and collective efforts of former governors, Senator Ahmed Rufai Sani Yariman Bakura and His Excellency, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi for ensuring unity among members of the party and supporting the party in all its activities.

“The party commends and appreciates former governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar for his financial and other support including grains and clothing materials to party members especially during this Ramadan fast where hundreds of thousands of APC members drawn from the 14 Local Government Areas of the state, including an invitation to hundreds of others to break the Ramadan fast on different days at his Talata Mafara residence.

“This comprised provision of 496 truckloads of assorted food items with 280,000 persons drawn from each of the 14 LGAs benefiting; Ramadan breakfast for 130 persons each day from each of the LGAs with each team going home with N100,000 wax wrappers and 10 yards of shadda to the visitors.

“Additionally, Sen. Yari distributed 32 truckloads of assorted food items to the party executives, elders and other critical stakeholders.

“Strongly commends His Excellency, former governor and Hon. Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON, for distributing half a billion naira cash also to many party members drawn from the 14 Local Government Areas including former Commissioners,, former Special Advisers and former Local Government Sole Administrators, among others, totalling 200, categorized between recipients of N100,000, N250,000, N500,000, N1million and above.

“The party also acknowledged and commends Hon. Mukhtar Shehu Idris (Kogunan Gusau) for donating over 1,000 bags of sugar and rice to beneficiaries cutting across the 14 Local Government Areas.

“Equally worthy of commendation and appreciation is the Zannan Bungudu and member representing Maru/Bungudu in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu who positively touched the lives of an unquantifiable number of party members in different ways during the Ramadan fast.

“The party showed special appreciation and prayers to His Excellency Malam Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, His Excellency Mukhtar Ahmad Anka, His Excellency Hassan Muhammad Nasiha and His Excellency Bashir Yuguda Gusau for their unflinching support and constant touch with the party leadership and members ensuring its strength and growth.

“While the party encourages all these leaders to keep up with the good work, praying Allah to continue giving them halal ways to help others, it called on other well-to-do individuals and groups in the society to emulate these gestures for continued growth, unity and peace of the party and its members.

“The party also recognized the various contributions and donations of many other members that are too many to be mentioned individually but commended their efforts and prayed Allah to continue to help them.”
